The Harvey Heilman Endowment Fund was created from the Estate of Harvey H. Heilman, Jr.

Mr. Heilman, was born on March 2, 1917, the son of Harvey H. Sr. and Ida (Bailey) Heilman and passed on Sunday, Jan. 15, 2006 at the age of 88.

After graduating from The Pennsylvania State University in 1939, Mr. Heilman served as a major in the Army during World War II as a chemical warfare specialist. Mr. Heilman attended The Dickinson School of Law and began practicing law in 1949. In 1957, he became a founding partner of the Kittanning law firm of Heilman and McClister. He practiced law for 57 years, continuing until a few weeks prior to his death. 

Mr. Heilman was a member of the Appleby Manor Presbyterian Church, former president of the First National Bank of Leechburg, former director of the National Bank of the Commonwealth and member of the board of trustees of the Kittanning YMCA.

Grants from this Fund are awarded annually to area nonprofit organizations.
