Gary and Janet (Bell) Pettengill Scholarship

Gary approached the Community Foundation after the unexpected death of his wife, Janet, or AJ as she was known by her nieces.  For those who knew Janet, she had the heartiest laugh, enjoyed life to the fullest and when she loved you, she loved you with all of her heart.

Scholarship Details

• Available to High School Seniors
• Nonrenewable
• Approximately $1,150 available
• Applicant must:
  • Be a graduating senior from any Armstrong County high school
  • Be enrolled at an accredited college, university, trade or technical school in the US

All applicants must complete the online scholarship application, including his/her response to the following essay question.

Essay Question

Please write a personal statement expressing your reasons for choosing your field of study, including your career aspirations and goals.  Please also describe your community involvement in activities and the impact community service has had on your life.
