For one week this summer, local foster children had the opportunity to step away from the everyday and enjoy something every kid deserves — a week filled with fun, friendship, adventure, and plenty of memories.

Thanks to For the Children Armstrong - Royal Family KIDS Camp,  campers and their support volunteers spent five days together at camp. From enjoying activities and exploring the outdoors to laughing with friends and trying new things, the week gave these children an opportunity to simply be kids and experience the joy of camp.

Two grants from the Armstrong County Community Foundation helped make the week possible. The Harry C. Brenneman Memorial Fund provided support for transportation to camp, while the Raymond A. Boarts Fund helped with the cost of the camp experience.

But the impact goes beyond getting children to camp or covering the cost of a week away. It’s about creating opportunities for children to build relationships, discover new experiences, gain confidence, and make memories they can carry with them long after camp is over.
