Grant in Action: Protecting Those Who Protect Our Community

Firefighters from Hose Company 6 Kittanning pose with Armstrong County Community Foundation representatives after receiving grant funding for new protective equipment

When our community needs help, our firefighters are there. Whether responding to a fire, an emergency, or another call for assistance, they put themselves in harm’s way to protect others. Having the proper protective equipment is an important part of keeping these dedicated first responders safe.

Through a grant funded by the Harry C. Brenneman Memorial Fund, a component fund of the Armstrong County Community Foundation, Hose Company 6 Kittanning was able to purchase new personal protective equipment (PPE) for its firefighters.

The new equipment provides an important layer of protection for the men and women who serve our community. By helping firefighters stay properly equipped, this grant supports their ability to respond safely and effectively when their neighbors need them most.

The Armstrong County Community Foundation is proud to support Hose Company 6 Kittanning and grateful for the commitment and courage of the firefighters who work every day to keep our communities safe.
