When pediatric equipment is returned after helping one child, its journey doesn’t have to end. With proper cleaning, maintenance, and preparation, that same equipment can go on to help another child and another family in need.

A recent grant from the James A. Frederick Fund, a component fund of the Armstrong County Community Foundation, is helping Reagan's Journey make that process more organized and efficient.

Grant funds were used to purchase a rolling tool cart with five drawers and an open space on the bottom. The cart provides volunteers with a dedicated place to keep the supplies they need while working with pediatric equipment.

The drawers hold tools used to make equipment adjustments, along with rags, cleaning agents, labels, and office supplies. The open lower shelf provides space for a steam cleaner used to sanitize equipment before it is prepared for another family.

The cart’s mobility is especially helpful for volunteers. It can be moved wherever it is needed and easily kept out of the way of families during appointments, helping create a more organized experience for everyone.

While a rolling tool cart may seem like a small purchase, it supports an important part of the organization’s mission: making sure pediatric equipment is clean, properly maintained, and ready to help the next child who needs it.

When community resources are cared for and put back into service, their impact can continue far beyond the first family they reach.
