When an emergency call comes in, volunteer firefighters are ready to respond—often leaving their homes, families, and daily responsibilities to serve their neighbors. Having the proper equipment is essential to helping these dedicated volunteers safely answer the call.

Through support from the Richard G. & Barbara A. Snyder General Charitable Fund, a component fund of the Armstrong County Community Foundation, the Pine Township Volunteer Fire Company was able to purchase four new sets of turnout gear for their firefighters.

Turnout gear is a critical piece of protective equipment that helps shield firefighters from the extreme conditions they may face while responding to emergencies. Providing updated gear helps ensure that these volunteers have the protection they need as they continue their important work in our community.
