Art has the ability to inspire creativity, encourage learning, and bring communities together. Through a recent grant project, the Armstrong County Arts Council is helping make those opportunities more accessible to children and families throughout Armstrong County.
With the support from the Harry C. Brenneman Memorial Fund, a component fund of the Armstrong County Community Foundation, the Arts Council purchased a variety of art supplies to create kits for each of the county's six libraries. These kits provide libraries with additional resources to support creative programming and encourage hands-on exploration for community members of all ages.
The art kits included a wide variety of supplies, including stencils, stamps, colored pencils, foam sheets, glue sticks, animal X-ray kits, markers, crayons, pipe cleaners, scissors, pottery clay, chalk, and much more. These materials will help libraries continue offering engaging activities that spark imagination and creativity.
Armstrong County Arts Council Director Donna Weckerly personally delivered the completed art kits to each library, ensuring that communities across the county have access to these new resources. Through this project, the Arts Council continues its mission of support and expanding arts opportunities throughout Armstrong County.
The Armstrong County Arts Council was also able to maximize the impact of the grant funding through the assistance of Rabbit Hole Collective, which helped purchase supplies through its wholesale program. Additional support was provided through a generous contribution from Mark Snyder, helping further expand the reach of this project.
This project is a wonderful example of what can happen when community organizations, donors, and partners work together. The Armstrong County Community Foundation is proud to support organizations like the Armstrong County Arts Council to make a lasting difference in the lives of residents throughout our community.
