Domenic Guido Memorial Scholarship
Mr. Dom Guido was a graduate of Leechburg Area High School. He earned his BS in mathematics at IUP and his master's degree at the University of Pittsburgh. He began his teaching career in West Virginia at Mountaineer High School, where he taught for two years before returning to teach mathematics and coach at Leechburg High School until he retired in 2008. After retiring, he remained involved with the Leechburg Area School District through tutoring students and community service activities.
Scholarship Details
- Available to High School Seniors of Leechburg Area High School and/or Lenape students whose home school is Leechburg Area High School
- Nonrenewable
- The recipient must plan to pursue higher education in a field related to education, mathematics, STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics), or a technical program and be enrolled in an accredited college, university, or technical school approved by the Community Foundation Board of Directors
All applicants must complete the online scholarship application, including his/her response to the following essay question.

1) Please describe volunteer or service-oriented work you performed outside of school. Why did you choose to do this work and how did it impact you?
2) Why have you chosen to pursue a career in teaching, mathematics, or STEM?
3) What impact would this scholarship have on your education?
