Joan Tatsak Memorial Scholarship

Joan Tatsak was a beloved friend, colleague and mentor to many of our friends and neighbors here in Armstrong County. She inspired and encouraged her peers and coworkers to achieve and strive for excellence. This unique fund is a fitting memorial. The Joan Tatsak Memorial Fund is a non-traditional scholarship fund that offers grants for entrepreneurship, leadership and scholarship.

Scholarship Details

  • Available to Adult Students
  • Nonrenewable
  • Approximately $1,600 available

All applicants must complete the online scholarship application, including his/her response to the following essay question.

Essay Question

Write a personal statement of no more than one page discussing your academic achievements, career aspirations, personal goals, your perception of your abilities, financial need and other comments relevant to your application.  A description of your leadership roles and activities in college or the community should also be included, as well as your volunteer activities in the community. Examples of volunteer activities include scout leadership, coaching, religious volunteer activities, and Parent-Teacher Organization activities.
